FAQs

What is "online personal training" anyway?
  • Online training is like having a traditional personal trainer, but we meet online, not in person. 

  • As your trainer, I take your goals, activity preferences, and any areas of concern and craft custom workouts for you. 

  • We meet weekly via video chat (where we can see and hear each other) and go over form, new exercises, and any questions you have (if we have extra time, we'll utilize that time as a private, online workout!). 

  • Workouts for are delivered via the Trainerize App (See more below).

 
What are the advantages of online training?
  • Online training tends to be less expensive than a gym membership and a in-personal trainer. 

  • You can save time when you don't need to drive to the gym for your workout.

  • You can choose when to perform your workouts and when you can meet for video chat check-ins.

  • You don't need to hire a babysitter or put your kids in the childcare at a gym.

  • You can workout in your jammies, sans makeup, etc. (May sound goofy, but I love this about working out at home!)

  • You have the convenience of working out at home with the advantages of having a trainer customizing your workouts, answering your questions, and helping you stay true to your goals.

 
What is Trainerize?
  • Trainerize is the platform I use to deliver your custom workouts.  Next to each exercise is a video of me explaining the form and tips for that exercise.  

  • With Trainerize, you get a personalized dashboard to see your programs and track results.

  • With this program, I personalize your workout calendar.  All your workouts and other reminders are on an easy to use digital calendar

  • As my client, you have access to all the custom workouts that I enter into your plan.  You can re-do previous workout on a day when I haven't scheduled anything for you if you'd like.  

  • Through Trainerize, you can access your workouts on your computer, smart phone, or via email. 

 
Why choose Trajectory Wellness instead of cheaper online programs or trainers?
  • One word: Customization!

  • The "one size fits all" programs you see are exactly that. Unfortunately, I know many people who have been injured by these types of programs. 

  • We all have our unique strengths and weaknesses, past injuries, muscle imbalances, etc.  I can utilize this information to tailor a workout to you, so that you are working out safely, effectively, and confidently.

  • Trainers who can offer you a bazillion workouts at a low price are designing general workout templates and delivering them to you and everyone else at your fitness level.  It's very unlikely that they're checking each workout to make sure it's a good fit for you. 

  • I AM NOT A "COPY AND PASTE" TRAINER!  I create each workout for you.  If I already have a workout that might be a good fit, I review it and edit it to make sure each exercise is safe and effective for YOU!

What types of workouts do you offer?
  • Barre (no actual ballet bar needed ;) 

  • Low impact cardio workouts

  • High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) - please note that this does no need to be high impact

  • Tabata

  • Strength circuits

  • Cardio circuits

  • Pilates/Yoga streching

  • Core

How long are the workouts?
  • ​Workout times vary, but average around 30 minutes

  • I design "stackable" workouts (shorter workouts that can be combined to make medium or longer workouts) for your convenience.

  • Circuits are great.  I suggest how many rounds to do, but if you are short on time you can decrease the number of rounds, or if you're feeling frisky, you can increase it. 

 
What equipment do I need?
  • You need a computer, tablet with built-in camera and microphone, OR a smart phone to access Trainerize and Zoom Meeting for video chats.

  • For workout equipment, a set of light and medium weights is a great place to start.  If you have a set of heavy weights, all the better!  I am happy to discuss what weights would be a good starting point during our Private Wellness Consult.

 
What are the disadvantages of online training?
  • There is a a learning curve when it comes to the technology of online training, but I am happy to walk you through it step by step. Once you know how to use the Trainerize and Zoom applications, it's smooth sailing!

  • While I make online training as personalized as possible, we are still meeting through a screen.  For some folks, it takes a bit of getting used to. 

 
Do you train in person too?
  • Yes, I do.  If you live in the Highland/Milford, MI area, you can email or call me to see whether I am able to travel out to you.

 
Do you train pregnant women?
  • Yes, I am trained in prenatal exercise.

 
What if I have a health condition or injury?
  • Let's discuss this during your Private Wellness Consult or you can email me to ask about your specific condition.

  • Generally, if you have your doctor's clearance to exercise, I can work with you, but let's make sure that we would be a good team by talking it through first!

 
Why should I consider a subscription?
  • A new habit takes time to develop.  Do-able, consistent steps over time yield big results. 

  • It takes time to learn good form.  As you learn the basics of good form in exercise, you can translate that to new workouts in different situations to ensure that you are exercising safely.

  • I develop long-term programs that help you break through plateaus as well as build strength and endurance.

What happens if I cancel my plan subscription?
  • Your workouts will be removed from your Trainerize plan at the end of your subscription. 

  • As long as you inform me or cancel your subscription online, your credit card will not be charged for the next month.
